Criteria
The BridgeView program is based upon the following Admission Criteria:
- Youth 12-18 years of age, male or female
- The youth must meet medical necessity criteria for admission which includes: mental illness or severe emotional disturbance prior to admission as determined by a certified or board eligible Psychiatrist.
- The youth's condition meets diagnostic crieteria according to the DSM IV (Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder.)
- Adolescents who have experienced difficulties in a less restrictive setting.
- Adolescents with intellectual functioning no less than low average.
- Proper treatment of psychiatric condition requires services that are available through an RTF level of care.
- The clinical team at BridgeView reviews each referral to determine if the program at BridgeView can meet the individual youth's needs.
- BridgeView is not designed to meet the needs of fire setters or adolescent sexual offenders, the mentally retarded or the autistic child,or those requiring a more secure setting due to active personal or other personal endangerment.
